SoundLab

is where kids turn sound into story.

We amplify creativity, rhythm, and self-expression in ages 8—12 through hands-on music and sound exploration. Each session is a mix of beat-making, vocal play, and collaborative sound design. This is a place where kids experiment, record, and bring their ideas to life. It’s all about finding your voice, building confidence, and feeling the power of creating something that moves people. SoundLab is where music becomes connection, and every kid gets to turn up the volume on who they are.

SoundLab works in two parts: a guided project first, followed by themed drop-in studio sessions.

The SoundLab Project is the starting point for all participants.

SoundLab is a project-based studio experience that unfolds in two phases.

Kids begin with the SoundLab Project: a guided, six-week creative experience designed to build shared tools, confidence, and creative language.

After completing the project, kids can continue exploring SoundLab through themed drop-in studio sessions offered on a flexible, ongoing basis.

Program Details

Step 1:

The SoundLab Project is the starting point for all participants. This six-week experience is where kids learn to record, mix, and shape sound using real studio tools. Guided by Rein, they explore rhythm, beats, voice, and storytelling while building the confidence to create freely.

By the end of the project, kids understand how to turn sound into something real, emotional, and entirely their own.

Project Schedule:

6 weeks・Wednesdays & Fridays・3:00—5:00 PM

  • Discovering your unique sound; how you mix, layer, and create something that feels unmistakably you.

  • Learning how rhythm builds focus, patience, and emotional awareness.

  • Creating together, listening deeply, and building something that only works as a team.

  • Seeing that your voice matters and hearing it come to life.

  • Turning moods, memories, and energy into beats, lyrics, and soundscapes.

  • Exploring technology, instruments, and sound design without fear of mistakes.

  • Understanding that every story, every sound, and every person has something worth hearing.

  • Learning the tools to create on your own and knowing when to ask for support.

  • Feeling seen and connected through shared creation and shared silence alike.

  • Getting lost in rhythm, focus, and joy - that place where time disappears and creation begins.

Step 2:

Once kids complete the SoundLab Project, they’re invited to our ongoing drop-in sessions: a creative playground for sound. Each session carries a new theme, from Halloween Beats to Friendship Frequencies to Dreams and Echoes. Kids come play, record, remix, and create something that moves people. It’s less about teaching and more about feeling. Every beat tells a story.

Drop-In Sessions:

Thursday afternoons (time TBD). Available after completion of the SoundLab Project

The stuff that actually matters

Where sound becomes story. And where play meets rhythm.

SoundLab feels alive, like a conversation made of music. Kids sample, record, and remix, watching their ideas grow from a single spark into something that moves everyone in the room. It’s equal parts exploration and instinct, teaching that every sound carries intention. Over time, the room itself transforms: shared focus, laughter, and pulse. Together, they learn that rhythm is unpredictable, alive, and always evolving.

SoundLab is designed for kids ages 8—12 who are curious about sound, music, and creative technology. Some younger participants (age 7) may be considered based on readiness and interest. SoundLab is a drop-off program centered around independence, collaboration, and creative flow. All equipment and materials are provided.
