Wednesday & Friday

Noon: 11:30 — 1:30 pm (MoxiKids session for ages 6-10)

Optional Hybrid: Families can add on the CuriKids morning session from 8:30 — 11:30 am

Afternoon: 2:30 — 4:30 pm (MoxiKids session for ages 6-15)

At MoxiKids, kids take the lead. Every session starts with their questions, ideas, and curiosity. They decide where to take it, how to build it, and what it should become. Roles aren’t assigned; they’re discovered. Some kids dive deep into research, some build, some create visuals or write, some quietly observe, document, and offer insight, and others step up to speak out. Every role is needed and they can shift at any time. Every voice is part of it. This isn’t adult-led learning dressed up as choice: this is kids driving real projects from start to finish. And it’s all theirs.

There’s a place for every child at MoxiKids — the bold, the quiet, the planners, the dreamers. Because meaningful work isn’t about fitting into a mold. It’s about finding where your strengths and moxie meet purpose. With each project, kids grow braver, more skilled, and more themselves; not because we tell them to, but because the work calls it out for them. Moxie isn’t just a word; it’s a way of being. It’s courage, grit, boldness, and heart all rolled into one. It’s the spark that makes kids stand up for what they believe and dream up what no one else sees yet.

Moxie is the unstoppable force inside us that says “I can”. It’s courage mixed with curiosity, determination blended with heart. It’s what drives kids to try something new, stand up for what matters, and build ideas into reality. When kids grow their moxie, they grow into humans who don’t wait for the world to change. They change it themselves.

MoxiKids runs in 6—8 week project cycles, designed for real life.

Join for a single project, choose a 3-project membership, or commit to a 6-project membership for kids who want to dive deep all year. Each project is built so any child can jump in and find their place; whether it’s for a season, for the summer, or for the long haul. We designed this program intentionally flexible, making sure every child can be part of meaningful work, bold creativity, and a community that feels like it was made for them.

At the end of each project cycle, kids present their work to the world: exhibitions, showcases, public events, and presentations designed and led entirely by them. Families, friends, neighbors, community builders and leaders, and anyone curious to see what kids can create are invited to witness their journey.

The first field study of its kind…

This isn’t just a series of projects. It’s the world’s first field study focused on what really matters: kids’ growth as humans, not expected outcomes or their grades. We’re watching how they show up; how their courage builds, how their creativity deepens, and how they begin to stand with a sense of who they are and what they care about. Because what we’re building is kids discovering what it feels like to lead, to create, and to know their ideas matter.

Kids light up around water. Ask any child what makes summer unforgettable, and you’ll hear about splashes, streams, and the thrill of feeling alive under the sun. But when we look around our city, the places where kids can move, play, and cool off safely, with clean water and spaces designed just for them, are missing.

The first MoxiKids project isn’t about building a splash pad. It’s about kids taking charge to shape the world they live in. Our group of MoxiKids is going to invite every child in Hendersonville to dream with them: to imagine the water play space they’d love to see in their city.

They’ll talk to engineers and architects. They’ll learn what it takes to turn an idea into something real. They’ll gather designs, drawings, and visions from kids all over town and weave them into a portfolio - a living blueprint that carries kids’ voices straight to city leaders.

Every picture becomes a signature. Every idea becomes a possibility. Because this isn’t just a petition. It’s kids creating a future where play is bold, water is safe and fun, and their community reflects what matters to them.

We’re kicking it off this summer. Kids all over Hendersonville will get the chance to dream up what water play in their city could look like: from creeks to splash pads to spaces no one’s thought of yet. And the ones bringing those ideas to life?
