The space + ideas behind the Villa.
INSIDE THE VILLA
INSIDE THE VILLA
Childhood shapes who we become.
The experiences kids have, the people they meet, the things they create, the questions they’re allowed to ask, and the places where they feel they belong all become part of who they are.
OUR MISSION
To create experiences that give childhood depth.
Our mission is to give kids the time, relationships, experiences and freedom to explore who they are and how they connect to the world around them. We build environments where play has purpose, culture expands perspective, expression gives ideas a place to go, and belonging gives children the confidence to participate fully.
OUR VISION
Kids who know who they are + know they have a place in the world.
We envision children growing up curious about people and perspectives beyond their own, confident expressing what they think and feel, comfortable being themselves, and capable of creating meaningful connections with others. Not because childhood is preparation for someday, but because what children experience, practice and become part of right now matters.
At the Villa, we create opportunities for kids to experience more of the world and more of themselves within it. Through play, culture, expression + belonging, kids explore their interests, encounter different perspectives, develop their own ideas, build relationships and discover how they want to take part in the world around them.
A few things to know
-
MoxiKids builds confidence, independence, collaboration, communication + the ability to think flexibly and work through ideas. But kids are also learning constantly along the way, through literacy, history, culture, social studies, music, technology, creative work, problem-solving + real-world topics.
A workshop about Dolly Parton can become history, culture, philanthropy, storytelling + discussion. A collaborative story becomes literacy, sequencing, writing + communication. A build can become math, design, persistence + teamwork.
The learning isn’t separated into subjects. It’s woven into what the kids are actually doing.
-
The full MoxiKids experience is a twice-a-week program with the same group of kids each week. That consistency gives us room to offer a much richer experience than a single workshop. Kids move through different parts of Kinder Villa: SoundLab, emotional strength workshops, literacy, history, math, creative work, group challenges, outdoor experiences + more.
Some experiences are designed for the whole group. Others give kids more room to follow their own interests, strengths + ideas.
-
A lot of different things. Kids might build, code, cook, write, create music, work with real tools, explore history, make art, care for animals, play strategy games, take on challenges + spend time outside. The mix changes, which keeps the program fresh and gives kids lots of ways to discover what they enjoy.
-
Wednesday Workshops are stand-alone, two-hour deep dives into one topic at a time. Our current series focuses on culture, society + the world around us. They’re a great way to experience MoxiKids, but they don’t include the full mix, continuity or depth of the twice-a-week program.
-
The easiest way to get a feel for MoxiKids is to join one of our Wednesday Workshops first. Kids get to experience the space, meet us + see how we work. If the full experience feels like the right next step, families can then fill out the interest form to learn more about joining the ongoing group.
-
Yes, but not in a school-like way. Literacy, math, history, culture, social studies, technology + problem-solving show up naturally inside what kids are already doing. A history workshop might turn into discussion, writing + research. A build might bring in measuring, planning + math. A storytelling activity might become literacy, sequencing + communication. The learning is real, but it doesn’t feel like sitting through another class.
-
Because kids bring different strengths, ideas + ways of seeing things to the group. Mixed ages make room for kids to learn from each other, take on different roles, collaborate across ability levels + become part of a more natural community instead of being separated by one exact age.
-
it doesn’t mean kids are just left to figure out what to do. We bring the structure, materials, challenges, workshops + ideas. Kids get room to make choices, follow what catches their interest, take something in a different direction + put their own thinking into the experience. It’s guided, but not over-controlled.
THIS IS WHERE IT ALL COMES TOGETHER.
The ideas, the skills, the friendships, the confidence, the things kids discover about the world, and about themselves MoxiKids gives all of it room to grow into one connected experience.
