FORBIDDEN! | MOXIKIDS WORKSHOP | NOV 11

$35.00

Wednesday, November 11 · 10:30 AM–12:30 PM · Ages 7–12 · $35

THE WORLD’S STRANGEST LAWS + WHO GETS TO MAKE THEM

Did you know that some of the world’s strangest laws are actually real? From bizarre bans involving animals and everyday activities to restrictions on what people can watch, read, wear, or say, the world is full of rules that might leave us wondering…WHY?!

But while some laws seem completely ridiculous, others have surprisingly reasonable explanations. And some can seriously limit people’s freedom.

In this Culture + Society workshop, we’re taking a curious look at strange laws, unusual restrictions, and forbidden things from different countries and throughout history.

Through interactive games, surprising discoveries, challenges, and open discussions, kids will investigate which laws are real and which are myths, explore why rules exist, and consider one big question: Is it about PROTECTION or CONTROL?

We’ll also explore democracy, different ways societies make decisions, and what happens when people have little or no say in the rules they must follow.

Can a law protect some people while restricting others? Does making something illegal automatically make it wrong? And should we always follow a rule without questioning why it exists?

Get ready for ridiculous discoveries, unexpected answers, and plenty of opportunities to question, debate, and think for yourself!
